Carol Davila University ranks first in Romania in NTU scientific research rankings

Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy (UMFCD) in Bucharest has been ranked as the top university in Romania in the 2026 Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers (NTU Ranking). This ranking evaluates higher education institutions based specifically on their scientific research outcomes.

In the general global ranking, UMFCD holds the 597th position. The university showed significant improvement compared to the previous edition, ascending 91 positions in the global university ranking and 7 positions within the specific field of Medicine.

In the field of Medicine, the university is ranked 261st worldwide, making it the only Romanian institution to be classified in this specific category. University representatives stated that these results confirm their strategic direction toward scientific research excellence and their goal to become a reference institution in the European and international medical landscape.
