Carol Lekker faces backlash after revealing death of Rick Sollo on A Fazenda 18

Presenter Carol Lekker is facing intense backlash and potential dismissal from Record Entretenimento following a controversial segment on ‘A Fazenda 18’. During the ‘Cabine de Descompressão’ broadcast, Lekker informed eliminated contestant Adryana Ribeiro about the death of her friend, singer Rick Sollo, who died in a helicopter accident.

Lekker has since deactivated her Instagram account amid the criticism. She defended her actions on X (formerly Twitter), stating she was following guidance from journalist Dudu Camargo. To support her claim, she shared a recording of a conversation in which Camargo allegedly suggested seeking a ‘shocking reaction’ for the program.

Co-presenter Christina Rocha issued a public apology to Ribeiro on behalf of the production team, noting she was also surprised by the timing and nature of the news. While some reports suggest Record may be moving to terminate Lekker’s contract, her team maintains that the composition of the program is a directorial decision.
