Carol Lekker ends Brazilian TV career and returns to Spain

Presenter Carol Lekker has decided to end her television career in Brazil and return to Spain, where she lives with her husband, Maik Riksen. The decision follows significant public backlash regarding her conduct during a live broadcast of ‘A Fazenda 18’.

The controversy began during the ‘Cabine de Descompressão’ segment, where Lekker informed singer Adryana Ribeiro of the death of Rick Sollo, a close friend of the singer, without providing emotional context or preparation. The incident drew widespread criticism from viewers and caused visible discomfort for co-presenter Christina Rocha.

Lekker formalized her departure from Record via email. Despite the network offering her a position on the ‘Link Podcast’ alongside Dudu Camargo as an attempt to manage the image crisis, she declined the proposal. Reports indicate she has already departed for Europe.
