Carole Delga hosts Rencontres de la gauche in Bram

The sixth annual Rencontres de la gauche took place in Bram, Aude, bringing together various figures from the French left to discuss unity ahead of the 2027 presidential election. Organized by Carole Delga, President of the Occitanie region, the event served as a gathering for social democrats, ecologists, communists, and radicals, notably excluding La France Insoumise (LFI).

Key participants included Olivier Faure, Marine Tondelier, Raphaël Glucksmann, and representatives from the Communist Party. Discussions focused on the future of the left and France. While Marine Tondelier suggested a primary that might include LFI, the proposal was met with boos from the audience.

As the 2027 election approaches, different factions are preparing for internal processes. A primary involving the Socialist Party, Place Publique, and the Republican Socialist Left is scheduled for October 9 and 10. Carole Delga has expressed support for Raphaël Glucksmann as a unifying candidate for the left.
