Carolina Dieckmann's Film 'Pequenas Criaturas' Trailer Released, Brazil Release Set for July 23

The official trailer for the Brazilian drama "Pequenas Criaturas" was released on 7 July 2026. The film stars Carolina Dieckmann as Helena, a mother who moves with her husband and two sons to Brasília in 1986, the early years of Brazil’s redemocratization. When her husband travels for work, she confronts isolation and questions her life choices while her teenage son André navigates first love and friendships, and younger son Dudu creates an imaginative world to cope with the new city.

Directed and written by Anne Pinheiro Guimarães, the movie won the Troféu Redentor for Best Fiction Film at the 2025 Rio Film Festival, also receiving an award for Best Production Design. The cast includes Caco Ciocler, Letícia Sabatella, Michel Melamed, Fernando Eiras, Théo Medon and Lorenzo Mello. The story draws on the director’s own experiences as a diplomat’s child who grew up in Brasília. "Pequenas Criaturas" will open nationwide in Brazil on 23 July 2026.
