The Carolina Hurricanes have acquired winger Stiven Sardarian from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for future considerations. Sardarian, a former third-round pick in 2021, recently completed a standout collegiate career at Michigan Technological University.

During the 2025-26 season, the St. Petersburg, Russia native was named the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) Forward of the Year and earned a spot on the First All-Star Team. He recorded 44 points, consisting of 12 goals and 32 assists, in 37 regular-season games.

The acquisition comes as the Hurricanes look to bolster their roster following their recent Stanley Cup victory. The team was recently ranked 23rd in the 2026 NHL pipeline rankings, noted for having a deep system featuring prospects such as defenseman William Håkansson and winger Bradly Nadeau.
