Carolina Hurricanes defeat Florida Panthers in preseason shootout

The Carolina Hurricanes secured a 3-2 shootout victory against the Florida Panthers during their preseason exhibition game at the Lenovo Center.

Florida took an early lead in the first period through Brady Tkachuk, who scored just four minutes into the game. Carolina responded quickly via Bradly Nadeau, but Aleksander Barkov regained the lead for the Panthers shortly after. Justin Robidas eventually tied the game in the second period with a snap shot.

Following a scoreless third period, the game proceeded to a shootout where Nadeau scored the decisive goal. Florida coach Paul Maurice noted that Brady Tkachuk was held out of the third period for precautionary reasons due to tightness, though it was not classified as an injury.
