Carolina Hurricanes defeat Montreal Canadiens 6-4

The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Montreal Canadiens 6-4 in the Canadiens' home opener at the Bell Centre. The matchup served as a rematch of last season’s Eastern Conference finals.

Taylor Hall led the Hurricanes with two goals, while Sebastian Aho contributed one goal and two assists. Other scoring for Carolina came from Eric Robinson, Mark Jankowski, and an empty-net goal by Andrei Svechnikov. The Hurricanes dominated much of the play, outshooting Montreal significantly during key stretches of the game.

For the Canadiens, Zach Bolduc scored twice, and Nick Suzuki recorded a goal and an assist. Juraj Slafkovsky also found the net. Despite the early scoring from Montreal, the Hurricanes secured their second consecutive win of the season. Montreal's performance was marked by defensive struggles and the absence of Ivan Demidov, who is sidelined with an injury.
