Carolina Hurricanes lead new NHL power rankings

The latest NHL power rankings, following approximately two weeks of play, place the Carolina Hurricanes in the top spot with a 6-1-1 record. The Edmonton Oilers follow in second place with a 5-0-1 record, while the Vegas Golden Knights hold the third position.

Several teams have seen significant movement compared to preseason expectations. The Winnipeg Jets and New York Rangers have both surged into the top 10, rising from 29th and 23rd in preseason rankings, respectively.

At the bottom of the rankings, the Calgary Flames and Philadelphia Flyers occupy the 32nd and 31st spots. The Flames have struggled with a 0-5-0 start, while the Flyers have faced difficulties in scoring, being held to two or fewer goals in seven consecutive games.
