Carolina Marín inaugurates tenth International Sports Forum in León

The tenth edition of the Foro Internacional del Deporte (FID) Ciudad de León ABANCA has officially opened in León, Spain. The event, which brings together prominent national and international sports figures, was inaugurated by Olympic badminton champion Carolina Marín and Alberto Díaz Pico, the Counselor of Culture, Tourism, and Sport.

During her appearance, Marín, who retired in March following an injury at the Paris 2024 Olympics, shared insights from her professional career. She encouraged future athletes to embrace opportunities, stating, “whoever does not take risks, does not win.” Marín also reflected on her impact on the sport, noting that her success helped increase the visibility and practice of badminton in Spain.

Marín expressed concern regarding modern trends in sports, suggesting that values such as effort are being lost in a culture that seeks immediate results and rewards children too early without recognizing the necessary hard work. The forum will continue throughout the week with various sporting personalities.
