Carolina Mejía praised as best mayor in Santo Domingo history

Municipal expert Waldys Taveras has praised Carolina Mejía, the mayor of Santo Domingo, describing her as the best mayor in the history of the Dominican capital.

Taveras highlighted several aspects of her administration, including her ability to govern alongside citizens through a co-management model that oversees more than 200 inaugurated parks and plazas. He also noted her success in cleaning up municipal debt through a reengineering process initiated during her first term in 2020.

Furthermore, Taveras commended Mejía’s diplomatic approach in coordinating with the central government and her ability to secure private sector support for impactful infrastructure projects in the National District.
