Carolina Mejía Receives Regional Praise and Party Endorsement

Former Costa Rican president José María Figueres Olsen praised the leadership of Dominican Republic mayor Carolina Mejía, describing the capital Santo Domingo as “absolutely spectacular” and commending her development initiatives. During a meeting at the Palacio Consistorial, Figueres highlighted the city’s transformation and invited Mejía to share the remaining Central American and Caribbean Games events.

Former youth minister and PRM figure Luz del Alba Jiménez announced her support for Mejía, arguing that her close, humane leadership would strengthen the Partido Revolucionario Moderno and continue the political project of President Luis Abinader. Jiménez emphasized the need for leadership that stays connected to party bases and expands female representation in Dominican politics.
