Carolina Panthers improve NFC South prospects with 2-2 start
The Carolina Panthers enter their Week 5 bye with a 2-2 record, significantly altering their standing in the NFC South. Following a 34-3 victory over Atlanta and a recent 32-26 win against the Detroit Lions, the team's odds to win the division have tightened from +450 to approximately +175.
Despite facing numerous injuries to key offensive players, including starting tackles Taylor Moton and Ickey Ekwonu, quarterback Bryce Young has emerged as a top performer. Young leads the league in passing yards with 1,268 through four games, recording nine touchdowns and only two interceptions.
Receiver Tetairoa McMillan has also been a standout contributor, particularly following a dominant performance against Detroit where he recorded 14 catches for 192 yards and two touchdowns. The Panthers currently sit level with the Atlanta Falcons in the division, while New Orleans holds a 1-3 record and Tampa Bay is 0-4.
