Carolina Sousa wins second place in Portuguese wine ambassador contest

Carolina Sousa, representing Palmela, secured second place at the Embaixadora dos Territórios Vinhateiros de Portugal 2026 gala held in Vidigueira. Organized by the Associação de Municípios Portugueses do Vinho (AMPV), the competition featured 11 candidates aiming to promote Portuguese wine culture.

During the event, Sousa participated in the ‘Partilha de Sabores’ challenge, presenting regional specialties including Bolo de Moscatel Roxo and Rissol de Queijo de Azeitão, prepared by Chef Pedro Ascenção, paired with 2023 Alicante Bouschet wine from Adega Camolas.

Maria Bertrand of Azambuja was named the primary Ambassador for 2026 and received the ‘Most Popular Online’ award, while Bárbara Martinez of Alenquer took third place. Other special recognitions included Ana Amorim for Photogenic and Beatriz Costa for Sympathy.
