Carolina Varchi launches “Palermo Capitale” to revitalize the city

Carolina Varchi, a national deputy for Fratelli d'Italia, announced the creation of “Palermo Capitale”, an open‑forum of ideas aimed at regenerating Palermo. She said the initiative will bring together local stakeholders, professionals and citizens to develop proposals on economic development, urban renewal, mobility, administrative efficiency, transparency, safety, social policies, the environment and cultural identity.

Varchi highlighted that the centre‑right city administration has already addressed major emergencies such as the municipal financial crisis and cemetery issues, and she urged the city to move beyond routine governance. The goal is to position Palermo as a national and international hub that can attract new economies, strategic investments and reverse the outflow of talent, while leveraging the “Piano Mattei” framework for international cooperation.
