Caroline van der Plas highlights Dutch transport infrastructure challenges

On a work visit to Transport en Logistiek Nederland (TLN) in Zoetermeer, BBB party leader Caroline van der Plas toured a truck and met with TLN members and transport operators to observe daily challenges in the sector.

The discussion focused on the recent closure of the Merwedebrug on the A27, a shortage of secure truck parking spaces, and the upcoming truck tax. TLN stressed that such disruptions affect supermarkets, hospitals, construction sites and the broader Dutch economy.

TLN called for structural investment in maintenance, replacement and management of road infrastructure to prevent recurring problems and higher societal costs. Van der Plas was accompanied by fellow BBB members Tjerk Zeitsen and Aletta den Boer, as well as TLN director‑owner Ton Maas and board chair Elisabeth Post.
