Caronno Pertusella authorities warn of water utility scams

Authorities in Caronno Pertusella and the utility company Alfa have issued warnings following reports of scammers impersonating water technicians. The fraudulent individuals reportedly claim to be inspecting the water network or checking meters due to potential pipe bursts and unpleasant odors.

In recent incidents, these individuals have used the pretext of a leak to gain entry into homes and request that residents open faucets. The local administration and Alfa emphasize that legitimate operators must always carry identification and are strictly prohibited from requesting or collecting payments, checks, or personal documents at a residence. Furthermore, Alfa does not perform water quality checks or maintenance on private plumbing systems located after the meter.
