Carosino launches Job Day to boost wine tourism and local jobs
The municipality of Carosino held a “Job Day – Il Vino come Driver del Turismo Enogastronomico” during the 60th edition of its Wine Festival. The event, staged in the public park’s Amphitheatre Aquilone, is part of the Puglia regional programme “Punti Cardinali for WORK”, which funds local orientation services and public‑private networks to strengthen employment.
Mayor Onofrio Di Cillo opened the meeting, stressing that enotourism can create jobs and develop the territory. Speakers highlighted the need to digitalise wine‑tourism offers: journalist Antonella Millarte urged online booking in multiple languages, while Tullio Mancino, director of Confcommercio Taranto, pointed to the sector’s untapped growth potential. The session closed with biologist and Mediterranean diet foundation president Domenico Rogoli, who linked wine quality to healthy nutrition.
The gathering brought together local officials, industry professionals and training experts to discuss how the viticulture sector can become a primary engine for regional economic development.
