Carovana del Po campaign arrives in Emilia-Romagna

The ‘Carovana del Po’ campaign, an itinerant initiative promoted by the Po River District Basin Authority and Legambiente as part of the European ‘Life Climax Po’ project, is arriving in Emilia-Romagna. From September 24 to 27, the program will trace the river's path, highlighting local water infrastructure and the stories of riverside communities.

Scheduled events in the Ferrara area include a visit to the Pontelagoscuro water purification plant, which manages the water supply for 250,000 residents and covers 85% of their needs. The itinerary also includes a visit to the Palantone pumping station, a key node in the district's water supply system that directs water via the Canale Emiliano Romagnolo to the province of Rimini.

Educational and cultural sessions will take place at the Rocca Possente in Stellata di Bondeno, focusing on the Po River and changing climates, as well as a theatrical event in Comacchio titled ‘Viviamo tutti in riva al mare’ to discuss the relationship between water, territory, and climate change. The project will conclude its tour in the Ravenna area on September 27.
