Carpatica Feroviar România appoints new Board of Directors

Carpatica Feroviar România, a state-owned company established to replace CFR Marfă, has appointed a new Board of Directors for a four-year term effective October 1, 2026. The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the sole shareholder, appointed five members to lead the company until October 2030.

The new board includes Adrian-Daniel Găvruța as President, Daniel Apostolache (who also serves as General Director), Gabriel Budescu, Mariana Miclăuș, and Mirela-Cristina Goicea. Miclăuș, the current General Director of Metrorex, joins the board despite previous critical findings regarding Metrorex management by the Ministry of Transport's Control Body.

Carpatica Feroviar România serves a dual civil and military role. Founded in 2024 to ensure strategic transport capabilities, the company is tasked with moving combat equipment, weaponry, ammunition, troops, and fuel for the Ministry of National Defense. This strategic focus is driven by Romania's position on NATO's eastern flank and its proximity to the conflict in Ukraine.
