Carpi launches new music community center and inclusive singing programs

New musical and social initiatives are launching in Carpi, Italy, aimed at fostering community inclusion and well-being through music.

MusiCrescendo, a project by Associazione APIS APS founded by Daniela Bertacchini and Simone Forghieri, is opening a permanent headquarters. Designed as a community hub rather than a traditional music school, the center will offer diverse programming including early childhood music, instrument training, Japanese Taiko drumming, and music therapy. The facility will host activities such as sound baths, drum circles, and theater workshops for all ages and abilities. An open day week is scheduled for September 21–25, 2026, with the official opening set for November.

Additionally, the singing course ‘Vieni a cantare con noi’ is returning to the Casa del Volontariato for its fourth year. Led by opera singer Serena Daolio, the program is specifically designed for individuals with vulnerabilities, their families, and volunteers. The course focuses on vocal exercises, breathing techniques, and choral singing to improve respiratory coordination and vocal strength. The initiative involves several local associations and is supported by the Municipality of Carpi and the Modena USL.
