Carrazeda de Ansiães residents protest Civil Protection response to wildfires

Residents of Vilarinho da Castanheira and Pinhal do Douro in Carrazeda de Ansiães have expressed strong indignation toward the Civil Protection command following a recent wildfire. While locals praised the firefighters, they accused the Civil Protection command of being unfamiliar with the local territory and criticized the mobilization of resources.

Spokesperson Pedro Correia stated that a fire front causing significant damage was allegedly abandoned, and local suggestions were ignored. Residents are seeking compensation for damages, citing incompetence in the command's response.
