Carrefour expands digital marketing and drive-thru assortment

Carrefour is implementing significant strategic shifts in both its digital marketing and e-commerce operations in France. For its 2026 Monopoly Month campaign, the retailer has become the first in the French retail sector to utilize all five major advertising spaces on Snapchat—Camera, Chat, Map, Stories, and Spotlight—through the ‘Five Tabs’ system. This campaign, orchestrated by the 79 agency, aims to maximize visibility and reinforce brand generosity among families.

Simultaneously, Carrefour is expanding its drive-thru assortment to record levels, averaging 27,454 products per hypermarket. This strategy seeks to use product variety as a competitive differentiator, inspired by models like Walmart. To support this expansion, the company is investing in more productive preparation tools. While Carrefour leads in assortment breadth, competitors like Leclerc continue to maintain a dominant market share by prioritizing pricing and service rates over a wide selection.
