Carrefour expands quick commerce network in Spain
Carrefour has surpassed 700 stores offering ultra-fast delivery services, establishing one of the largest quick commerce networks in Spain. This milestone follows a 40% increase in operational capacity, achieved by adding 200 new centers to its network this year.
Unlike traditional online shopping, this model focuses on urgent, last-minute consumer needs. Customers can place orders via mobile apps such as Glovo, Uber Eats, and Just Eat, with a goal of receiving fresh products within 30 minutes. The company aims to maintain the same quality and pricing as its physical stores.
To support its omnichannel expansion, Carrefour is integrating its loyalty program, El Club Carrefour, into the digital experience. Members can receive 3% of their purchase amount in savings via their ChequeAhorro by linking their cards to delivery platforms. Additionally, the company is testing nighttime delivery services in high-demand urban areas like Madrid and Barcelona to cover urgent orders outside of standard business hours.
