Carrefour expands retail media through Snapchat and data partnerships

Retailers and media companies in France are advancing data-driven and omnichannel advertising strategies. Carrefour is launching its second ‘Monopoly Month’ commercial campaign from September 8 to October 12, 2026. To maximize visibility, the retailer is utilizing Snapchat’s ‘Five Tabs’ advertising feature, marking the first time a retail brand in France has occupied all five entry points of the platform within a single campaign to drive traffic to stores and digital applications.

In a separate strategic move, JCDecaux, Carmila, Carrefour, and Unlimitail have partnered to develop a physical retail media offering centered on data. By combining JCDecaux’s digital screens, Carmila’s shopping mall locations, and Carrefour’s retail data, the alliance aims to transform physical shopping environments into measurable media channels. The initiative seeks to allow brands to manage physical media investments with the same precision and standards as digital campaigns by linking audience exposure directly to transactional data.
