Carrefour Kenya introduces prepaid grocery card in partnership with KCB and Mastercard
Carrefour, operating in Kenya through Majid Al Futtaim, has launched the Carrefour Prepaid Card together with KCB Bank Kenya and Mastercard. The reloadable card is designed to let shoppers set grocery budgets, track spending and ensure funds earmarked for household essentials are used as intended, while still offering the convenience of card payments.
Carrefour’s Regional Director for East Africa, Christophe Orcet, said the card “allows customers to plan grocery spending, stay in control and manage household budgets with confidence.” KCB’s Director of Retail Banking, Jane Isiaho, highlighted that the solution reduces reliance on cash and is supported by 24/7 service. Mastercard’s Shehryar Ali added that the product provides a simple, secure and inclusive payment option for everyday needs.
