Carrefour Polska phases out printed promotional leaflets

Carrefour Polska has entered the final stage of phasing out printed promotional leaflets, transitioning its marketing entirely to digital channels. This move concludes a decade-long process of reducing print materials that began in 2016.

By shifting to digital formats—accessible via the ‘Mój Carrefour’ mobile app, the company website, and various aggregator services—the retailer expects to reduce annual paper consumption by up to 10,000 tons compared to 2016 levels. Over the last ten years, the company has already decreased paper usage for promotional materials by 96 percent.

The decision is driven by shifting consumer habits. According to a 2025 UCE Research study commissioned by Blix Group, 84 percent of Polish consumers regularly use electronic leaflets. Digital distribution allows the retailer to update offers instantly and direct customers toward specific in-app coupons.
