Carrefour Polska to implement mass layoffs in Mazovia

Carrefour Polska has announced plans for group layoffs in the Mazovia region, specifically targeting 210 positions in Warsaw. The workforce reductions are scheduled to take place between October and December 2026.

This move is part of a broader transformation plan announced by the company in early 2025, which focuses on modernizing its store portfolio and optimizing its business model. The strategy involves a shift away from large hypermarkets toward more compact, profitable formats that cater to consumer preferences for quicker, local shopping.

Carrefour currently operates over 700 locations in Poland across various formats, including hypermarkets, supermarkets, convenience stores, and an online grocery shop. The company also manages logistics centers, shopping malls, and fuel stations within the country.
