Carrie Coon to receive inaugural Luminary Award at Vancouver Film Festival

Actor Carrie Coon has been named the inaugural recipient of the Luminary Award for acting at the Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF). The new award recognizes excellence and dedication to the art of the moving image.

In addition to receiving the award, Coon is scheduled to participate in an extended conversation regarding her career and creative process. Her upcoming film, ‘The Liberation’, will also be screened during the festival, which begins on October 1.

The festival is also introducing Luminary Awards in other categories, including directing excellence for Markus Schleinzer and screenwriting for Leah Nelson. The event will feature various industry professionals through the VIFF Talks series, including discussions on film editing, production design, and independent film production.
