Carrie Okay debuts with single ‘High in a Drugstore’

Singer-songwriters LØLØ, salem ilese, and Alna have formed a new alternative pop-rock supergroup called Carrie Okay. The trio has released their debut single, ‘High in a Drugstore’, a track described as a modern take on 1990s and early 2000s soft pop-rock.

The song was produced by Andrew Goldstein, known for his work with artists such as blink-182 and Tate McRae. The group noted that the track was originally written for another artist, but they decided to form a band to keep the song for themselves. The lyrics explore themes of heartbreak and existential crisis.

Goldstein commented on the group's creative process, noting that because each member is an established songwriter, the development of melodies and three-part harmonies occurs rapidly during the writing sessions.
