Carrie Underwood performs nu-metal covers at Velocity Festival

Country singer Carrie Underwood performed a series of nu-metal covers during her headline set at the Velocity Festival in Dyersville, Iowa. The performance, held at the Field of Dreams, included renditions of “Shine” by Collective Soul, “Scars” by Papa Roach, “One Step Closer” by Linkin Park, and “Break Stuff” by Limp Bizkit.

During the performance of “Break Stuff,” Underwood wore a backwards red hat as a tribute to Limp Bizkit singer Fred Durst. The singer has a history of rock collaborations and covers, having previously worked with artists such as Papa Roach, Mötley Crüe, and Axl Rose of Guns N’ Roses.

The Velocity Festival was a three-day event featuring other headliners including Shinedown, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Creed, Nate Smith, and Filter.
