Carrie Underwood performs surprise worship set at Tennessee church

Country music artist Carrie Underwood made a surprise appearance at Rolling Hills Community Church in Franklin, Tennessee, to lead worship. During the service, she performed songs including “What a Beautiful Name” and “Great is Thy Faithfulness.”

Underwood performed a duet with Jennifer Akers, an associate worship pastor at the church. The performance follows Underwood’s history of participating in holiday services at the congregation, which she is reported to attend.

Separately, it was announced that Underwood will return to perform the Sunday Night Football anthem for the 14th consecutive year. This season’s version is expected to feature footage from a recording studio and a stadium concert, with the new rendition debuting on September 13 during the Dallas Cowboys versus New York Giants game.
