Carro Quemado celebrates anniversary with gastronomic contest
The town of Carro Quemado held a multi-purpose celebration combining its anniversary, Mother's Day, and a traditional 'pollo al disco' (chicken in a disc) gastronomic contest. The event featured musical performances, circus acts, and local entrepreneurs.
Ismael Martínez and Gladis Galván, a couple from Santa Rosa, won first place in the cooking competition. The winners noted they used fresh herbs to add a unique touch to their recipe and expressed their passion for traveling to participate in various culinary contests.
Mayor Oscar Rodríguez Huarte stated that the decision to combine the three celebrations aimed to increase visitor attendance and promote the locality. Looking ahead, organizers mentioned that next year's tournament may include sub-sites across the province, with Gobernador Duval being a potential candidate.
