Carson authorities release images to identify girl found in Dominguez Channel

Authorities in Carson, California, have released new images, including a computer-generated composite, in an effort to identify a young girl whose body was discovered in the Dominguez Channel on September 1. The girl, estimated to have been between 6 and 13 years old, was found floating near the Victoria Golf Course. She had short, thick, slightly wavy dark brown or black hair and brown eyes.

At the time of her death, she was wearing size 7Y black pin-striped pants and a size 8 ‘Jurassic World’ pajama top. A size 10 red Christmas sweater by Shein was also found with her. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner has not yet determined her exact race, age, or cause and manner of death.

A second body, a man estimated to be in his 50s or 60s, was found in the channel the following morning near a refinery. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated that no connection has been established between the discovery of the girl and the man.
