Carson Daly and Al Roker share awkward moment on Today show

During a broadcast of the Today show, meteorologist Al Roker experienced technical difficulties when his microphone failed during a weather segment. While co-anchors Savannah Guthrie and Sheinelle Jones offered verbal advice to resolve the issue, Carson Daly attempted to assist by offering his own microphone.

As Roker worked to fix his equipment, Daly approached and gave him a tight hug, an interaction that Roker described as “awkward” following a nervous chuckle. The hosts later joked about the incident, with Roker referencing the show’s recent broadcasts from Ireland to explain the unexpected closeness.
