Carson Hocevar is entering his first NASCAR Cup Series Chase as the 12th seed following a breakthrough regular season. Despite securing his maiden Cup Series victory at Talladega Superspeedway, Hocevar has faced a recent decline in momentum, dropping from fifth to 12th in the championship standings after finishing outside the top 20 in three of his last four races.

Driving the No. 77 Chevrolet for Spire Motorsports, Hocevar has expressed a realistic outlook regarding his team's ability to compete with top-tier contenders. He noted that his manufacturer, Chevrolet, currently lacks the top-end speed of the front-running field. Rather than focusing heavily on points, Hocevar stated he intends to enjoy the postseason opportunity and see how the team performs as the 10-race playoffs begin at Darlington Raceway.
