Cartagena announces new musical contest and cultural forum anniversary
The city of Cartagena has announced several cultural initiatives. The V International Composition Contest for Processional Marches, organized by the Cartagena City Council and the Junta de Cofradías de la Semana Santa, is now open. The competition offers 3,800 euros in prizes for original, unpublished musical works that reflect the specific rhythms and expressions of Cartagena’s Holy Week. Composers of any nationality and age may submit entries until November 16.
Additionally, the cultural forum Cartagena Piensa is celebrating its 10th anniversary with its 30th edition. The program includes over twenty proposals running through December, featuring various researchers, philosophers, and sociologists. The initiative aims to foster collective debate on topics such as climate change and social issues, continuing a tradition of hosting free public events.
