Cartagena considers acquiring a replica of the Lupa Capitolina

The Cartagena City Council is considering the acquisition of a replica of the Lupa Capitolina, the iconic Roman sculpture symbolizing the foundation of Rome. Although the municipal plenary unanimously approved the initiative to seek a reproduction nearly two years ago, official procedures have not yet been formally launched.

Mayor Noelia Arroyo indicated during a plenary session that the project remains under consideration. She noted that the municipal government has been evaluating the proposal and seeking consensus with the Federation of Troops and Legions. While the exact timeline for beginning the formal request to Rome has not been established, Arroyo stated, “probably we are going to do it.”
