Cartagena expands Vía Verde de Barrio Peral with eight bids

Eight companies have submitted bids for the next phase of the Vía Verde de Barrio Peral in Cartagena. This expansion will extend the existing green corridor from Avenida Víctor Beltrí to the vicinity of the Instituto Politécnico in the Virgen de la Caridad neighborhood.

The project has a budget of 760,000 euros and an estimated execution period of four months. Planned improvements include new concrete paving, revegetation with native species, updated public lighting, and new urban furniture. The initiative aims to enhance pedestrian and cyclist connectivity between residential areas, educational centers, and commercial zones.

This work is part of the RE-CREA Integrated Action Plan, which utilizes European urban regeneration funds to invest in various neighborhoods across Cartagena. The project is currently in the contracting phase following the submission of offers.
