Cartagena implements new equality plan for municipal employees
The Cartagena City Council has implemented a new Equality and Non-Discrimination Plan for its employees, which will remain in effect until 2030. This initiative updates the previous municipal plan established in 2015 and was approved by the Local Government Board following negotiations with municipal employee representatives.
The plan applies to all staff, including both civil servants and labor employees, across all municipal workplaces. It focuses on two main lines of action: access to public employment, professional promotion, training, remuneration, working conditions, work-life balance, prevention of harassment, and gender violence prevention.
Key measures include annual remuneration analysis, the review of selection processes to ensure equal opportunities, and the promotion of gender-balanced selection tribunals. The Permanent Equality Committee will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the plan.
