Cartagena launches Cuesta Blanca and La Magdalena festivals in July

The western district of Cartagena began its annual Cuesta Blanca and La Magdalena celebrations in mid‑July. Activities include concerts by groups such as Agua Marina, Sótano 14, Perreo Sevilla and The Covers Band, a cycling tour with a bike giveaway, a charitable walk for multiple sclerosis, and a neon‑themed Olympiad. Traditional elements feature a procession for the patron Saint Santiago Apóstol, a “marcha solidaria,” inflatables, and a final fireworks display.

The program also offers a children’s gymkhana, a football base tournament, and a giant‑screen screening of the World Cup final between Spain and Argentina. Community participation is encouraged through various raffles, a sardine grill, and a charity bike contest. The festivities run from July 18 to July 26, concluding with a musical performance by the soloist Pedro and a traditional final salute.
