Cartagena municipal pools see high demand in first season under new management

The swimming pools at Rafael de la Cerda Park in Tentegorra have completed their first season under the direct management of the Cartagena City Council, recording 30,836 users. Sports Councilor José Martínez Hernández described the turnout as a “rotundo éxito” (resounding success).

The facility averaged 440 daily users, exceeding the initial 400 daily capacity. This high demand was facilitated by an online system that released and resold tickets as users left the premises. The reopening follows a period during which the complex had remained closed for the previous summer season.

In addition to the Tentegorra facilities, the Casa de la Juventud pool recorded 6,683 users, operating at nearly 90% capacity. Combined, the city's summer municipal pools reached a total of 37,519 users. The management transition occurred after the facilities were ceded by the Mancomunidad de los Canales del Taibilla.
