Cartagena residents demand improvements to urban services and public spaces

Residents and political representatives in Cartagena are addressing various urban maintenance and development issues. In the Barrio Peral neighborhood, Movimiento Ciudadano (MC) held a meeting to gather local demands regarding street cleaning, waste management, and the maintenance of public parks. Spokesperson Jesús Giménez Gallo highlighted concerns over the state of trash containers and the need for better connectivity, specifically calling for the completion of the Príncipe Felipe avenue to connect with Víctor Beltrí.

In the O Martinete and O Birloque areas, a large plot of land on Manuel Ferrol street, which previously served as an abandoned area filled with weeds and trash, has been cleared. While the space is currently being used by neighbors for walking and recreation, it is slated to be developed into a new housing project. The cleaning of the site was facilitated by a private owner following complaints from the Monte Martelo neighborhood association, though the area has recently faced issues with irregular parking.
