Cartagena Symphony Orchestra concludes Entre Cuerdas y Metales cycle

The Cartagena Symphony Orchestra, led by conductor Leonardo Martínez Cayuelas, performed the closing concert of the XXIX edition of the Entre Cuerdas y Metales promotional cycle at El Batel. The event featured award-winning young musicians Juan Hernández Garrido (horn), Ariane Martín Rodríguez (harp), Sofía Guillamón García (violin), and Keyla Domínguez Blázquez (soprano) performing alongside the professional orchestra.

The program included Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1 in C major, Op. 21, as part of the commemorations leading to the bicentenary of the composer’s death in 2027. The musicians also performed works by Haydn, Vivaldi, Sarasate, Mozart, Luigi Arditi, and Francisco Asenjo Barbieri. This initiative, organized by the Cartagena City Council, aims to provide young performers with professional experience and introduce their talent to new audiences.
