Club Sport Cartaginés beat Sporting FC 2-1 in the third round of the Apertura 2026 season. The opening half was tightly contested and physical, producing six yellow cards and few clear chances. Jesús González opened the scoring in the 50th minute after a collective move, before Alex López equalised for Sporting in the 62nd minute. Cartaginés secured the win with a spectacular volley from Geancarlo Castro in the 86th minute.
