Cartago to host 35th Pan American Youth Karate Championship

Cartago will host the 35th Pan American Youth Karate Championship from August 24 to 30 at the Cartago Polideportivo. The continental event is expected to draw approximately 1,500 participants, including athletes, coaches, and international referees representing 25 countries from across the Americas.

Major competitions and finals are scheduled to take place between August 27 and August 29. Cartago Mayor Mario Redondo Poveda noted that the influx of visitors is expected to provide an economic boost to the province, benefiting local commerce, restaurants, and tourism.
