Carter County Back to School Bash Provides Free Supplies and Activities

The 19th annual Back to School Bash was held at Happy Valley High School in Carter County, Tennessee. Despite early‑morning rain, the event attracted a large crowd that received free backpacks, school supplies, haircuts and other giveaways. Organizers from Harmony Free Will Baptist Church, founded by Pastor Brandon Young and coordinated by Shannon Posada, said the day aims to ease families' financial burdens and help children feel prepared for the school year.

Attendees enjoyed inflatables, games and other activities. Community members praised the event, noting its positive impact on children’s confidence and readiness for the upcoming school year. The church is already planning next year’s Bash and is accepting donations and volunteers.
