Carter Efe addresses tensions with Wizkid and loyalty to Davido

Nigerian content creator and comedian Carter Efe has addressed his shifting allegiances among major Nigerian music artists. During a TVC News interview, Efe explained his decision to support Davido over Wizkid, citing a past incident where he claimed Wizkid “poured spit on my face.”

Efe, who gained recognition through his song “Machala,” stated that while the term is associated with Wizkid, he now identifies as the “Machala” of the streets. He expressed deep loyalty to Davido, describing him as a “helper” who has supported him financially and helped change his life.

In a separate livestream, Efe also criticized Wizkid’s official DJ, DJ Tunez, making disparaging remarks about his hygiene to discourage fans from comparing the two. The influencer's comments follow a period of tension regarding whether Wizkid’s camp properly recognized Efe after the release of his tribute song.
