Nigerian content creator and skit maker Carter Efe has credited Afrobeats singer Davido with significantly transforming his financial status. During a recent livestream, Efe stated that Davido’s involvement in a previous broadcast helped him earn the largest amount of money of his life, claiming he became a “big boy overnight.”

Efe used the moment to contrast Davido’s support with other successful individuals whom he accused of being unwilling to share their success or opportunities with others.

The financial and social surge originated from a December 2025 Twitch livestream featuring Davido. That event set a record for African streaming, attracting more than 80,000 concurrent viewers. The appearance helped Efe gain over 139,000 followers in a single night, surpass 20,000 subscribers, and briefly become the most-followed African streamer on the platform.
