Carter Efe loses TikTok account with 5.6 million followers

Nigerian content creator and skit maker Carter Efe has reportedly had his TikTok account, which had 5.6 million followers, permanently banned. The platform cited repeated violations of its community guidelines as the reason for the permanent removal of the account.

This marks the second major loss of a large-scale account for Efe. His previous TikTok account, which held over 3.5 million followers, was lost in June 2025 following online disputes involving the singer Wizkid. After rebuilding his audience to 5.6 million, the latest ban effectively shuts down his primary platform for comedy skits, music promotion, and live broadcasts.

The incident has sparked discussions among social media users regarding platform dependency and the risks creators face when building audiences entirely on third-party applications. While the loss of the account is significant, Efe maintains a presence on other platforms, including Twitch.
